Since its inception in 1953, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has been providing disaster assistance loans through its Office of Disaster Assistance. Financial assistance is available in the form of low-interest, long-term loans. SBA is responsible for providing affordable, timely and accessible financial assistance to homeowners, renters and businesses following a disaster.
